Yeh it's twisted but if you start off the marriage that F%@ked up you really can't get worse!

On a serious note, make it something fun, not sappy.  Sappy tends to make mom cry and run her makeup then she'll complain about the pictures for the rest of the night.

Good point, having fun is important so why not go for something left of center and play the Time Warp

Isn't it a law that all moms like The Sound of Music?

So, how about this?

First it'll make her laugh, then the emotion will sneak up on her and she'll cry her eyes out.

NOTE: Check out the third "girl".  Even at 60+ (?) she's a Hottie!

This should definitely be a good one for the mo-in-law dance:

I was going to suggest something sweet and romantic like "Who Let the Dogs Out?" or possibly "Brick House."
But now, as I sit here typing, listening to my wife argue with her mother over the telephone about which American Idol winner is better, I think maybe the Bob Dylan classic "Idiot Wind" might be more appropriate....

I think I'm gonna steer clear of this one.  ::)

But my wife said, "What about Silence Is Golden"? ::)

              Now remember, she said it.

I think Bill's wife has come up with the perfect song. Imagine starting
your marriage with a silent Mother-In-Law.

However, there is always this old standard,

   "Mother In Law"

(A. Toussaint)

Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law

The worst person I know
Mother in law, mother in law
She worries me so
Mother in law, mother in law
If she leaves us alone
We could have a happy home
Sent from down below
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law

Satan should be her name
Mother in law, mother in law
To me they're about the same
Mother in law, mother in law
Everytime I open my mouth
Steps in trying to put me out
How could you stood so low
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law

Come home with my pay
Mother in law, mother in law
She asks me what I made
Mother in law, mother in law
She thinks her advice is a contribution
If she would leave that would be the solution
Don't come back no more
Mother in law, mother in law
Mother in law, mother in law....

I liked my mother-in-law. She was cool.

Rocking-M, while that is definitely a great old song, I am with 74cb750, nothing wrong with my Mother-in-law, we get along just fine and also my Father-in-law and I got along just great (once we had a confrontation (spelled: Heavy Argument  :D ) but, he passed on about 5 yrs ago. I maintained their cars for them for several years. I remember once that my Mother-in-law's car (a 78' Chevy Malibu Classic) would not start, when they were trying to go home after Church and my Sister-in-law's husband just pulled it back to their home. I told my wife, he could have messed up the trans because it was an automatic and he just hooked up to it and towed it. ::) I told my wife that we needed to let them know that we'd be there Friday afternoon and I'd fix it that weekend. (I was told that when attempting to start it, it would turn over and try to start, but wouldn't and I'm thinking"Timing chain". Got there, checked it out and sure enough I could turn the crankshaft a bit before the distributor shaft would turn. ;) Went and got the parts and started in on it. Meanwhile, my Sister-in-law and her husband came over and he started with the questions like: How do you know that's what it is, Didya bring a timing light and such as that. I finally told him , "No, I didn't being a timing light. The engine was in time, when the chain stretched enough to keep it from starting and I didn't need one. He like to had a hemorage! My Father-in-law was with me all the time I was working on the car and finally told him to go in the house cause his wife probably needed something." :D Well, they left shortly after that and Saturday morning, here they came again. First thing he did was come over to the car, to see what had happened and I was just getting  in the car to start it up. He really was watching close and I pushed the accelerator down to set the choke, turned on the ignition switch, turned it on over and the engine started right up and ran perfect an  the guy just stood there gawking! Finally, my Father-in-law said to him, "Well, Bill fixed it even WITH your help!  ::) :D My Sister-in-law's husband never questioned me again about things like that. No one else was concerned about whether I could fix a problem with their cars or not. ;)
