750K brake hose specs....??

Experts,

I'm still futzing with my front brakes and trying to avoid sending my old
brake lines to ..   www.cyclebrakes.com ...  to get exact stainless replacements.
They have the specs for a 750K4 but no other 750K....the question being are
those lines the same as the ones on a K0.

I seem to recall that all the K's front brake hoses were the same??

I would like to know also since I have a k8. it would be winter project. Is there any kind of pressure fitting I need or anything like that?

I would think the only differences would be the length of the pipe to suit different bars.
Can you not just measure the lines and send them the measurements.
Just a thought.

The lengths are one thing.  Also, they need to know the angle of the
banjo fittings on the ends and the types of fittings (One is not a banjo fitting)
....and the specs on the banjo bolts as they supply those also.

I will probably wind up sending the old lines to them just to make sure.

All the US K0-K6 lines should be the same length. The later K7 and K8 (ugly sisters) had slightly different calipers (same as F/F1) so OEM K0-K6 lower hoses won't fit, but braided lines from any model apart from the mighty F2/F3 will work fine. Cheers, Terry. ;D

You know Eldy, I was offered a K7 or k8 by my local bike wrecker a couple of years ago, I've bought many bikes from him over the years and he was a bit surprised when I turned him down, I guess initial impressions are everything with me, and I just couldn't get past that big tank and the funny pipes, geez, it must hold about 10 gallons?

Anyway, he sold the engine to Rex Wolfendon (T Rex Racing) and junked the rest. in hindsight, I should have bought it Eldy, all the "experts" have told me that they're a great bike, it's just that they look so er, fugly? Having said that, Derek Ingram's K7 "Cafe Racer" is very tasty indeed. if I see another one going cheap, I might just buy it mate, it might convert me, ha ha! Cheers, Terry. ;D

750/4's are getting "thin on the ground" here too Dave, the wrecker who gave me those HM341 pipes sold the K2's engine to Rex and chucked out the complete rolling chassis, tank, sidecovers and even the gauges! I nearly cried! Oh well, I'll "keep my eye out" for you mate, no worries! cheers, Terry. ;D

I spotted an ebay listing yesterday that had hose lengths for brake hoses used with low bars.
here's what the listing said:

On my 1971 CB750 (which I no longer have) I was planning to install low bars (from a European CB550) and a Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Line Kit. Both these parts I do not need any longer, so they are for sale.
I used the Eurobars for one season, they were great for my 6'3" (very comfy) and fitted without changing the US highbar cables.
The brake line kit is new and was never used or even unpacked, includes all fittings plus a stoplight switch (so you have one as a spare should the one at the lower triple tree fail),
top line is 270mm, bottom line is 370mm.  It does only fit the Eurobar, uses the lower triple tree adapter.

That Spiegler stuff is very good, expensive, but great quality. I like the fact that you can "turn" the fittings to an angle to suit you, so you don't "twist" the hoses, which is a commpn problem with braided stainless steel hose fittings.

I took the "twin disc" setup off my K2 as now that I've finally got some original pipes I'll take it right back to original, but I might put the twin discs and braided lines on my K1 "Cruiser", formally known as my K1 "Rat Bike"! Cheers, Terry. ;D
