Hello Everyone,
Im new to this group so heres a little about my moto. i purchased a 74 honda cb 750k a little less than a year now. when i first got it had a bad gas leak (carb floats) which i didnt noticed since i purchased the motorcycle at night and the person i bought off had other cars and bikes in there that the whole place smelled like gas and oil. NEVER BUY ANY MOTORCYCLE OR CAR AT NIGHT! but i was 110% sure i wanted a 750 and as they are getting harder to find in decent running conditions i said sold! i had a rebel at the time and well as much as i loved that bike i needed something bigger. now im not a tall guy, about 5'7 so when i rode my bike home i was struggling at stops, these things are just too damn tall. so for the first couple of weeks i was bummed out becuase it was like ridding all over again for the first time, i had no confidence on this moto. i did some research and found some lowering blocks, bought them, installed them, and now i can put at least both of my feet down. after that day i started to fall in love with my bike day by day. then i started to be more rebelious with the throttle. thats when i found out that my bike was having mid range problems. it kept bogging down and become less responsive in the mid range. i never worked on these bikes before so i took it to a mechanic. and come to find he couldnt find the problem. now this bike was stock except a 2 into 1 dual exhaust. so the mechanic try to re jet the carbs, change different plugs, mess with the carb settings....but no luck. it still ran like #$%*. so i said enough with mechanics so i purchased a manual and started to do things on my own. i did mostly everything to fix the problem: changed different main jets, valve adjustment, cam chain adjustmen, timing, and other maintenace. but it will still bogg down. so i called different mechanics and most of them told me it was the carbs, and needed to be rejetted or synced. Then one day i ran across the discovery channel and they were showing "10 world greatest bikes ever" to find out that the cb750 came in 3rd. thats when i first heard of Kurt Winter. Then months later i ran into a craigslist ad mentioning a honda cb specialist. i called and to my surprize it was him! He told me that it was my exhaust, that for some reason 2into1 exhausts for the early 750s are alot of trouble and the best exhaust is the stock, or a 4into1. he advised me to change the exhaust and see how it runs....sure enough when i put that 4 into 1 my bike ran so quick i was scared but with a big smile on my face. i could now feel the engines potential coming alive. that 2into1 robbed me so much hp that i was getting frustrated when ever i wanted to go a little faster. now the bike runs wonderful! If you guys live in the Los Angeles area and need any work done on your motorcyle, especially Honda, then Kurt is the man to go. but im sure most of you guys know of him already. i will try to get some pics up of my bike but for now you can click here http://www.flickr.com/photos/14793729@N03/2781322591/in/set-72157606858849339/

So true. I've found out the hard way that problems on these bikes rarely occur in isolation.

Welcome to the forums. Is the paint original? That doesn't look like a stock scheme to me, but I like it. As for these being tall bikes, at 6' 3", I got a CB750 specifically because they are tall. ;-) Good on ya for getting the lowering blocks set up.
