...now, you take my carbs... PLEASE!
« on: September 09, 2005, 07:33:38 PM »
I've had it. These carbs have had too many cooks and this stew (these carbs) is godawfull (a godaw is a lttle like a jackalope only it's more lizzard-like and lives on distant islands. Apparently they get really ugly after eating, but can't confirm this personally)
Sometimes I ramble.
The point- can anyone recommend a shop or competant person to take my carbs back in time about 30 years? I haven't ridden by 400 in forever and I'm starting to get mad.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

I have rebuilt many sets of these for myself and others, and could probably help you.  I have an ultrasonic cleaning vat and access to the proper size metric O-rings for the main jets, float seats, fuel transfer tubes and bowls.  Often you don't need to purchase the carb kits, just replace the rubber bits.  My price is negotiable and would depend on how deeply I might have to raid the spare parts bin, but would certainly be much less than any commercial shop.

Two tired  hipped me to this website:
http://motorcyclecarbs.com/support.htm

They will work on your carbs if you ship them there, and also have good information online available.

they recently started a consultant service by phone for which they charge $1.00/ minute for consultations about your carb issues.
