Loss of power and motor dies
« on: August 25, 2008, 04:11:33 PM »
I was going to Lowe's this past weekend and decided to ride my 75 CB550. It was a cool morning and really good riding weather. Lowe's is probably four miles from my house. Bike has really been running well and I did not expect any problems. I was in 5th gear cruising about 50 mph for two miles or so, then I could feel the bike choking out and starting to stall. I tried to keep it going to no avail, and she finally just turned off. I pulled over and could see no obvious problems. After about five minutes she started right back up. Made it to Lowe's, but it did this two more times on my way home. I have a clean tank, but was thinking something must have worked its way into the fuel line. Not sure, and haven't checked things out yet. Any ideas?[/color]

if it happens again, try opening your gas cap.  if you hear a whooosh noise, the vent line or gas cap is blocked.  am sure more ideas are on the way, good luck!
