Shock mount conversion?
« on: August 28, 2008, 04:24:18 PM »
Does anyone make a conversion so you can ditch the Clevis end and go to an eye on the shocks so you can run some better shocks?

Where is it written that eye to eye shocks are better?

Not trying to rain on your parade, but Ohlins and other top notch shock makers have eye to clevis shocks in their line.

Well I guess I should not have said better just more choices. I got a spare set of Progressive 440's I've been kicking around in the garage and I would like to throw them on.

I've never seen a conversion kit of this type, but that's not necessarily saying much.

Got a welder?  Make some conversion brackets.  You could probably even sell them if you were so inclined!  :)

I have seen custom swingarms that had multiple mounts for eye-eye type.

very easy mod if you want to change them,  on a stock arm..

Now that you mention the custom swingarm angle, I HAVE seen swingarms that had bolt-on lower shock mounts with multiple mounting locations.

Looks like I'll have to draw something up in solidworks and send it off to my machinist then...
