Electrical problem
«

I have a 1975 CB750K5. Had been running well. Recently while on a ride all electrical shut sown and engine died. Pulled left side panel and noticed the main fuse (15A) was burned out. Replaced with a 7A (took the top one (of the three fuses in the box) and used it for the main. Bike started but no lights.
What would cause the main to go out like that all of a sudden while riding. Regulator or Rectifier problem? Can't ride until problem is fixed.

Thank you. Will look into the fuse holder to see if there is corrosion. Hope that works.

Some oxidation is transparent, still resistive and generates heat. If your fuse is melting at the end caps, its heating from external sources and not blowing from over-current.
Cheers,
