now i remember why i hate wrenching on cars......
« on: September 10, 2008, 06:27:36 PM »
first time in a couple of years i've done anything other than a tune up or oil change on my car myself. i did struts, front and rear, tie rod ends, new cv axles both sides, new strut mounts, radiator, power steering pump and idler pulley. now of course i can barely move lol. so much easier to work on one of my bikes, sitting in my shop chair next to the lift. lots better than crawling around in the gravel driveway anyways. but now the ol' saturn is good for another 100,000 miles. new tires and 4 wheel alignment tomorrow.

new tires and an alignment, the thing drives like new! i've fallen in love with my saturn all over again. it's not quick (cant get out of it's own way in fact) it's not pretty wither BUT i get great mileage, a/c works excellent, and i can haul bales of hay, bags of feed, or motorcycle parts. i can even pull a light bike trailer.

I gotta do that stuff everyday.  I'm 26, but still get sore even with lifts.  But for some reason I can't quit doing it.  Its in my blood I guess.

i'm 51 and do it 40+ hours weekly. Mostly on 100,000 mile+ cars and things break when I take them apart. I think that's why I'm so damn crabby all the time :) Workin on the bikes has the opposite effect.

drove up to charlotte to look at an early 90's katana (the bike was crap) but the 4 hour round trip was nice, no wandering, darting or steering wheel shake anymore.
