Topic: "77 750F saddlebag light wiring

I just finally finished mounting these old Bates saddlebags.  As far as I could tell, there is no conventional way to mount saddlebags on a '77 750F.  Apparently that was not the intent in the bikes design, understandably.  However, with gas prices I need it to be a little more utility.  I cobbled together some aluminum flat stock and stainless bolts and came up with something I think will work.  The lights on the bags are dual filament and I intend to use them as turn signals (after having to remove the stock lights).  I would also like for the lights to function as "running lights".  Does anyone have any suggestions about how to wire this way?  I thought maybe just spice into the existing tail light wire. Thanks for any help.

I removed the original turn signal lights, so technically I'm not adding any more lights than was there before.  But, would making the new lights function as "running" and turn signals add much more draw?  How do I "make sure" I would have the capacity for the new setup?
