I bought this damn head ache this summer. 75 Honda cb550f. I knew what I was getting into. I did a lot of research and I knew I wanted a sport bike. I knew I wanted a classic. Something fun and easy to work on. I wanted to make this thing into a cafe bike. It's turning out well. I am keeping all honda parts on there, but I am mix matching them. Got a 750 front end on the thing. Works way better for stopping power.
So any way, I finally got a good deal on the 750 rotor which was the last part I needed to get on the road. So while the bike was down I painted everything, including the exhaust. Well I got everything put together and got excited when the rotor came I put it on and went for a ride and it was great. So I rode to work yesterday and when I got there I was missing a muffler

. Yes I heard it. No I didn't know what was going on. I forgot to tighten it down. It's my own dumb fault, but that's not the issue.
The issue is the $180 dollars for a new muffler. Dennis Kirk, Old Bike Barn, etc. etc. etc. I have compared everything I could, all prices are the same. I looked into used ones and they are all rusted out and almost just as expensive as a new one for crying out loud.
I have spent about twelve hours on the net looking for an alternative. I am stuck. I just don't have that kind of cash right now. Any ideas? Please help!
