Ex called me in tears today.....She teaches school and works with the Cheerleading squad at the Junior high down here.

Seems the Teacher next door and her helper on the Squad was beaten to death by her abusive boyfriend.

Ex wife had to go gather up her personal effects.

She left behind a 3 sons. One just 3 months old.

Domestic Violence is a horrible horrible cycle that never ends well.

If you know of someone suffering from that kind of violence and abuse ...for gods sake help them.

Sorry to be a downer just needed to vent.

Oh my dear God, why is there violence like that.  There's no excuse, and it was a shame that nobody was able to stop it.  My prayers and sympathies to the victim's family and friends.

        Tim, I'm so sorry to hear abut that and I hate the effect that it also has on the family and those who are connected to the victums in whatever way. There is NO excuse  for things like that to happen. So senseless! Lord knows there is enough suffering in the world, without something like that happening. Our Prayers go out for the victims, to the victims' families and friends. As has been said Tim, you vent ALL you need to. The Sorry Low Life(s) who did that, don't deserve to share the same air that others breathe. How is your ex doing? Hope she's getting so relief herself. Things like that affect so many.

There is anger, and there is righteous anger - and this is righteous anger.

This kind of thing is something that just baffles me- and makes me crazy. As a firefighter -I've seen it closer than I like. 

Sometimes things come at us that we just can't understand.

Vent on my friend vent on.....
I'm a hardened Corrections Officer, cut down enough suicides to think I am bullet proof to the wickedness of this world but.....
This week in little ole sleepy NZ, a guy heading home from work (he was a manager of an insurance company) was approached by a terrified woman who was covered in blood, she pleaded for his help.
He got between her and a crazed knife wielding (sickness beneficiary: not sure why my taxes should pay for him at all).
Crazy guy with knife stabs innocent insurance worker guy and he bleeds to death in seconds on the busiest street in the largest city of NZ.
I'm still trying to make sense of that, the murderer will plead insanity, get 10 years or less and be out in 6.
I know I've seen it for 16 years, I'll have to make sure he gets high quality medical/dental treatment, education (free), visits with his ever forgiving family and ensure he can attend church just in case he has some confessing to do.
The victim (remember the innocent insurance guy, 3 young kids and a loving wife of 24 years) will be forgotten in days!!!!
Sorry just my vent tonight...........feel better now...Hush.

most of those bums will not take blame for what they did
some shrink will give them a reason for what they did
abused as a child or drugs or the whatnot
treat these guys like the violent criminals they are and get them of the streets

i guess it was the way i was brought up but, i just dont understand people hurting one another for the hell of it! defending yoursef against physical attack is fine but beating a woman to DEATH? for no other reason that anger? or hate? makes me wonder how we, as human beings can survive with people acting this way. hope your ex is handling things ok now, it's good to see that even though your'e divorced she still will go to you whtn something like this happens.

I'm not sure what makes people "flip" like that.
I remember once I was visiting a friend in Chicago, we were walking to the store and all of a sudden a woman pulled a knife on her "boyfriend" and started swinging at him. I was amazed at this spectacle playing out before my eyes (I'm a country boy) and yet people were just walking around the whole thing like it was in their way. My friend was like "move along nothing to see here" but I was more taken aback by how nobody tried to help, or break it up.

There's alot of good in the world too kghost.  I believe more good than bad.  Don't let it get you down.  Just continue doing good and take a lesson from it to not do bad things yourself. 

My opinion is that the guy that killed her should have to pay for raising those kids while in jail.

I guess because I'm an old bastard and have lived through some profound changes in the world that I have found people that believe that they have the right to hurt others that are weaker than them, I'm not sure that it's women so much as some one that isn't able to defend themselves, women, kids, animals, old buggers, etc I think they should be dealt with harshly, as in drag that man out and have him shot Sgt major or her for that matter.
Things happen in this modern world that wouldn't have when I was young, and I think its because no one is expected to take responsibility for their actions. Ahh I could rant for hours, instead I'll keep my head down and truck along until the end. Sorry Kg no enlightenment here.

I've studied this topic some, and it IS complex.  Men don't talk about it, but some of them are abused, too.
Women don't know where to go.  Often times their own families won't take them in, thinking it's between husband and wife.  Or, they live in stark terror because the spouse promises to harm a relative or shild- making the woman responsible for other people's welfare.  Often times, they come to belive it's their fault- if only they didn't think and act the wrong way he wouldn't have a reason to get mad.
What I find really bothersone is, many times a battered woman, when asked why she remains in that situation, will reply, "Because I luv 'im".

O'Henry wrote a story about how a woman began to suspect her husband didn't really love her because he didn't care enough to beat her like all her other friends husband did.

2 years ago, i went through an attempted robbery/carjacking by knife. the dumbass did it..........OUTSIDE THE GUN SHOP/PISTOL RANGE! needless to say i had a fully loaded .357 on my hip and put that idea to rest. but, what would have happened were i unarmed? i dont wanna be stabbed. 4 months later had someone come running towards my cat at a light weilding a baseball bat! i laid the pistol on the window frame and cocked the hammer, the waste of air dropped the bat and took off. i live in a pretty high crime city, this lovely town of columbia, just 2 miles up the road from a major project.
