With new parts, any same type part can go into any carb. However, used parts tend to meld with their relational counter parts and fit best with whatever partner they had all these years. To minimize wear in (and the march to wear-out), keep the parts in the same association. Clearly, damaged parts shouldn't be reused.
You will also find out that each carb position is unique, even though they were all machined from the same casting.
Lastly, they may LOOK like they are the same carbs, but if their set up stampings on the carb bodies are different, they will have different internal parts.
