G/day. I need some help to identify a parts bike that I have aquired. The compliance plate is stamped 12/76 for the month and year. The frame number stamped is CB750 - 2110224. There is no motor.This is an australian bike. What have I got? Are the fork tubes from this bike interchangeable with the fork tubes from my 78 F2 ? Pat from Aust.

There have been so many Frankenbikes made over the years, its better to date individual parts. Some of the melting pots of bikes are pretty incredible. The old Johnny Cash song "One piece at a time" comes to mind.

No they did not. The frame number indicates a K2 and the year indicates K6 or K7. There are no gaiters on the fork tubes which indicates K7. I don't know. Pat

I must be reading the frame number incorrectly but I have checked it a number of times already. However I will check it again tomorrow. Pat

The frame number that I listed previously is correct but printed on the compliance plate adjacent to the stamped frame number is CB750P. Is this a police bike? A 17mm allen wrench is needed to remove the caps that seal the top of the fork tubes. All of the bikes that I have seen require a ring spanner or socket to remove the cap. Pat

The P does suggest an ex cop bike but as there are no lists anywhere on those i have no idea how to be certain. Perhaps a letter to whichever country you are in Honda importers asking for a confirmation of model and buid year might get you somewhere. IN uK THAT WOULD COST ABOUT £30

Bryan. Thanks for your reply. The bike is only a parts bike and I am satisfied that it is an ex police bike. I hope that the fork tubes will fit my worn F2 forks. The quickest way to find out will be to pull the forks apart. Thanks again. Pat
