Mount Bolt Specs
« on: November 02, 2008, 07:43:10 PM »
Anyone have the specs on the motor mount bolts for a '77 750k?  I'd like to order replacements from McMaster Carr.

Thanks!

I don't think they make bolts long enough; I've checked.

I'll check my 78K tonight (if I can remember to do so for you) and post the measurements. Should be the same from 77 to 78.

It would be much appreciated.  Any thoughts on where to buy the bolts?

One thing you can consider is to use standard threaded rod stock. My local hardware store even has it in Stainless. And you can swap out the metric with english. I know the larger of them is almost the same as 1/2 inch. That is as long as you are going to change out all your nuts as well.

I think the motor mounts are a M10 x 1.25 thread hard as #$%* to find around I wouldnt recommend using stainless steel for the motor mounts remember it's a grade 2 or 3 steel. OEM Honda bolts were at least a grade 6.

Okay the two front mounting bolts are 1 15/16" long on the timing side, and 3 1/8" long on the stator side.

The front bottom bolt is 10mm by 12 1/4" long (310mm roughly).

The rear bottom bolt (also holds the foot pegs) is 12mm by 13 3/4" long (350mm roughly).

The top rear bolt is 10mm by 11 1/16" long (280mm roughly).

Hope this helps.

I don't think MC Carr has any that long.  I will post a source once I find one!
