Fork question
«

I got a 75 550k and the driverside fork is pitted and doesnt hold oil. I have a pair of forks from a 78 550k and the same fork is pitted but the opposite side looks good. Can I use the fork to replace my bad one? It's the opposite side and a different year.

yes I am not 100% cetain but I believe it will work. I had my 78 550 forks apart recently and they are identical. I don't think they changed from year to year.

If you are talking about the fork tubes, then I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no they are not the same. The assembled height of the later 404 forks is shorter, tubes as well.
