I have a friend that's going to shoot my tins so I was wondering where's a good place to get paint. Anyone have any online recommendations?

You have no local automotive paint retailers? Check with them. They are the paint experts.....

I do. Im just trying to get an idea how much Im going to have to spend.

Base coat, clear coat 50 bucks on up depending on brand and color.  Sometimes it is just easier to get in your car and go to the store.

With the wife working nights, taking my rambunctious toddler and 2nd grader with me to a "quick and easy" run to the automotive store is not really ideal sometimes when Im just trying to price something out...

After doing lots of searching, I keep finding paint sold in 96oz containers or gallons. I would assume I only need a quart or two to do the whole bike.

I get the low temp basemaker (dries fast in ambient temps), chromabase colors
For the clear coat, get the 2 part. I recently switched from Dupont clear to Nason, I like how quickly the hardener acts especially if you bake it.

It hard to get smaller quantities of paint online. Eastman or Ketone might have smaller quantities. Sometimes you get jokers on feebay that sell 2oz of paint which wont cover anything.

Will your local guy ship to you if you make nice with him?

Nason is duponts low price brand....same stuff just cheaper.

Linco works for me, and no, you will need a 1/2 pint of color and about the same in clear. Primer, activator, lacquer thinner for clean up all add up.  Have your tin guy use primer sealer with activator for the primer also.  I have painted hundreds of bikes.
