cb500 Exhaust Questions
« on: November 13, 2008, 12:19:58 pm »
Hey all,

I'm thinking of cutting the mufflers off my CB500 headers, and fabbing up some type of exhaust. Debating with different ideas, but mostly interested in this:

Does someone make an exhaust adapter from 2 pipes into one?

I've seen the replacement exhaust systems that match up with the stock headers, but I'm just looking for the 2 into 1 guy. Anybody seen one?

Thanks!

You can buy a used set off eBay and cut out what you need.  I don't know of any 2-1 adaptors out there.  Larger or smaller tubes can be adapted at a muffler shop.  Hope this helps.

I sent them an email, thanks for the heads up!

I'd love to try working an undertail into this build, something like this:

The 4 STock headers to 2 2" pipes using these would be neat.

Would have to move the electrics to the (future) cafe hump with the battery, then use some fun heat shielding to keep them happy. Also would need to re-do the inner fender and put some leg-shields on!

It COULD work. . . right?  ??? ::) ;D

Great finds guys! "collectors" should have been my search term!

If I do try for the undertail, then there won't be any side covers, and I'll just be looking for a different place for the battery/electrics.

I wonder what I could use to block the heat between the under-seat pipes and the seat? Any ideas?
