DIY large, magnetic, white, stain proof floor pad for work area.

I rigged up a big magnetic pad for the floor or my garage, and I wondered If anyone else was interested in doing the same? I've also been thinking about maybe pitching it commercially. It's cheap to make, and wicked handy.

-Basically, you just buy some magnetic sheeting on ebay (about $40 for 24in x 25ft)
-And cut it down to size/ epoxy it together to make a mat size you like (My mat is 4ft x 10ft)
-And then hit it with a couple of coats of permanent teflon spray, like scotchgard metal and vinyl ($15 for 32 oz)

TADA! you now have a white, magnetic mat that will catch you screws and washers and crud, and you can rinse off the oil with a hose.

Let me know If anyone decides to actually make this, I'd be happy to know if anyone found it useful. I decided to make it when I was replacing the ignition button on my 350/4's bar assembly. There was a whole world of miniature springs and whatnot in there that came cascading onto my concrete floor, and dissapeared forever.

Neat Idea.
