it's tough having 2 hobbies isn't it ;)
what recording stuff did you get? I am/was a recording/audio engineer and have a good stash of stuff I would happily trade for CB bits I need, lmk what your needs are and maybe I have some deals for you

I just got a basic home recording setup for some solo stuff. Digital 8-track recorder (but it can only record two simultaneous which is fine for my needs). MXL 990 and 991 mics and some mic stands.

But that's besides the point, a nice CB650 may have been more fun! But maybe less satisfactory in the end as it's already in decent shape according to the ad, head gasket and a cylinder not firing is relatively easy stuff.

hMMM do I need another 82 CB650? At that price I wouldn't hessitate if I lived in the states however with the Kiwi dollar buying .51cents of the American I hink I'll have to pass. ;D

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

You folks might be well beyond what I'm talking about here but I've had nice success with Audacity (which is, of course free - 'cause I like free and/or cheap).  Google it and you'll find where you can download it.  I believe you can do 16 tracks with it (prolly only one at a time). 

I know a guy in upstate NY who uses some fancy software (read: not free) and a multi-input sound board for his recording but he does some fantastic stuff.  Check him out on Youtube.  His name on Youtube is MarkMusicMan.  He's big on Badfinger, Zeppelin, Floyd, Frampton, others.  He ain't an SOHC4 kind of guy but he is a good guy :)

Nothing wrong with other hobbies.

I too record write/record music and also write short stories and am working on a novel. To say I have much on a plate is an understatement. It's all fun stuff.

Analog still sounds warmer than the new digital software. It's just slower to work with, but it's hard to beat the sound.

My other hobbie too. Heres a pic of my rig. Church Audio stc-11 mics >CA preamp>JB3 at 44.1wav. Its been modified to an 80g hard drive.

Ok, toss me in there too... I use Cakewalk Sonar, Mackie control surface, AKG and Chinese mics, and I build my own outboard gear (clones of Neve, SSL, UA, etc.) Check out http://www.prodigy-pro.com/diy/index.php if you're looking for another expensive, time consuming hobby.
