Difference Between The CL350 & The SL350 Lower Case Halves?
« on: November 27, 2008, 07:38:35 PM »

You see, my delima is, I've got this SL350K2 "rolling frame" and a CL350 engine. Now, the SL350K0 had an electric starter, but the others didn't and had a different frame. So, to put the CL engine in that SL frame, I need to either "whack off" that part of the upper case half (where the starter mounts) and fill it in or replace the crankcase (or maybe just the top half, if the lower CL half will bolt up to the SL upper case half. The p/ns of the CL lower case and and the SL pieces are different. Now, I don't know what the difference might be. It could be that the will work together just fine, or not! Does anybody out there know, or know someone who does know? Thing is, if the CL lower case half could successfully be used with the SL upper half, I need to know because I've got a lead on an SL upper case half (and the alternator housing), as we speak. Need to know, I'm trying to line things up to put together an off road bike (using mostly what I've got) to just plunk around in the woods and such. Any input would be appreciated. Even though I'm trying to gather some parts for this one, I'm also working on gathering some parts for my 74' CB450K7.

Look for a thread on the 450 in the near future. I don't have the provisions for photos right now, but will take care of that soon as possible.

                                  Take care, Bill ;)
