Teens today, and teaching them some of our culture.
« on: November 27, 2008, 07:57:09 PM »
My 15 year old and I were watching TV tonight and and a "Jim Carry" new movie clip came on and I said................with out Jerry Lewis he wouldn't even have known what manic humor even was.

To which she replied ........who's Jerry Lewis?

OK..... so I go on, but ask her to get a piece of paper as I am about to school her and I will give her a break on cleaning the kitchen if she goes and does some youtube and google searches.

I then said without "Lenny Bruce", "Richard Prior" wouldn't have had the ability to to what he did on stage.............to which she said "who's.......Richard / Lenny...you get the rest.

I turned her onto George Carlin a while back as well, and with my introduction she has introduced her entire school to QUEEN and Freddie Mercury.

She is in the loft now doing 30 mins of research. I asked for an oral report on what she has learned ;D

Just trying to do my part. ;)

Hey Derek, I have a spare Cheech and Chong ticket for 12/20 in Denver. Now that your palace away from home is finished head south on a "business" tax deductable trip.  ;) Don't know that we could categorize who they fit with.

Round up some sleds and a cabin in the hills for after the concert and I'm there!  ;D
Looking for a Christmas trip.

You must have some great snow snowmobiling out your way ;)

I saw Tommy Chong at a theater a couple of years ago and went to a restraunt where he was after the show. Cool guy.  His daughter married a fellow high school grad, "divorced now" ::)

I've snowmobiled only once. Sounds like something we need to do. Damn good excuse to drink, etc. Nothing real close unless you have your own machine. Closest ski area, Breckenridge, is 100 miles. Took a trip on the sleds while we were at Steamboat. Great fun. Really appreciated those heated grips! Great small western town. The snow has been light so far. It was in the 70's this past week along the front range. 25 now with light snow. You're welcome any time.
