I'm getting put in a museum!

No, not me personally, even though my kids probably think I should be in a museum!

Two of my bikes are going in a Museum. The Midland Dow Museum and center for the Performing Arts is kind of copying what Guggenheim did with their motorcycle show. THe are having a two or three month long showing of motorcycles over this winter of unique, custom, or classic motorcycles.

Last Nov., I filled out the applications for entrants and sent along some 8x10 color glossies of a couple of my bikes. Figured what the heck, its winter, I'm not going to be doing anything with them, might as well see if they were interested in them so other people could enjoy them.

Just got a phone call from the museum.

My 1971 Penton 125 Six-day adn the 1964 Hona RC174 GP replica  I built have both been accepted to be on display for their version of the "Art of the Motorcycle". The RC replica started life as a $200 ebay special '76 CB400F. If you are around the Saginaw bay area, stop by the museum this winter and check it out.

A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.

Well, here's the Penton, A 1971 125 Six-day, otherwise known as a Penton Steeltanker. I bought it in 1972. Its still all original, not restored.

Familiar ??.. that same motor used in Penton, Sachs, DKW, Dalesman, and a few others.

I had a DKW or Sachs one, had a leading link fork on it.

Swingarm pivot breaks once in a while on them..

I'm not too surprised that the swingarm breaks on them!
They look like they made them out of old knitting needles!
From a distance I thought a Penton was some form of Suzuki TS but nah that finned head is a dead giveaway.

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Pretty neat that people will get to see these bikes in a museum setting.  Makes all the time and effort worth it.  I hope they have a good security system.  Congrats...
