This is the last clock I built earlier this year before I went to work in the movie industry. I'm hoping that the movie work will allow me to do more of this type of work along with my sculpture and furniture without having to worry about having it support me.

It was a commissioned piece and stands 6' tall. Primary woods are cherry and birds eye maple. Other materials are copper, glass, hematite, bronze screen, plastic and bone.

From Massachusetts eh?

I love utilitarian objects like furniture and buildings reaching the level of art. Not enough of it I say, nice work!

Yep...from the east side, the very east side of MA. While I don't know Dimitrios Klitsas I'd be willing to bet that he knows a carver/sculptor in my building...Dave Calvo. In the rather small world of high end carvers they would appear to have similar skill levels. I don't have any decent images of my sculpture available right now but it is quite different from what most people think of when they think of sculpture. This man, Joseph Cornell, is the godfather of assemblage sculpture and one of my biggest influences.

I'm so relieved to know certain skills are not becoming lost to the ages. I am in awe of such ability.

I like a lot of "urban art" or graffiti... not the stupid ignorant crap. I will post photos of a really neat place by my old apartment. It was called the Riverside Market and they closed down but the guy still owns the land so he put the word out for all the taggers to come and paint his building up. It's really neat.

Any way I am also really into the Obey stuff. I just like the simplicity of it all yet it still has a pretty strong message.

Man, I'd like to know how someone could achieve that result on a radiator. Just goes to show creative surfaces can add to a piece.Cool.

 :D Artists, the original recyclers!

I had to stretch my own for projects. The first few are fun then it gets a bit tedious. Still, like rebuilding a bike, the more you have a hand in the work the more personal it is. But, I've been searching for out of the ordinary surfaces for drawing/painting. Very cool you have a supply of boards!
