Fun while it lasted
« on: December 24, 2008, 10:37:52 AM »
I was whizzing along on ,my cafed CB 350 a few months ago having a great time on the ramps and circles in Saskatoon loving how small and nimble the bike was. Then I headed for home 30 miles out of town doing 75 and then about a mile from home it suddenly seemed like I'd lost a cylinder, then abit later she quit completely.
I finally pulled the motor last weekend and found the cam chain in the crankcase in many pieces. It looks like the idler failed and the bike was actually running for a while with the chain running between the idler and the tunnel before it piled up completely. I'm thinking it's possible that the crank gears is damaged now.
Has anyone experienced this ?
If it's worth doing at all it's worth over-doing.
