No offence taken. I know I was a goob in them there days. But to answer your question, Derek, no. I always wore a full face helmet.

And getting back to the original post: in England the bikes came in three colours the first year. The copper-y colour of the first pic, the blue like the one I had, and a metal flake green. And fwiw my friend had a 360 (mine was a 250) with the previous registration #: VNK25M

Mine was a 1976 CB360T.  This pic was taken in about 1982 when I owned it.  My older brother bought it brand new.  Four different members of our family have owned it over the years.  My dad still owns it...

Both the 250 and 360 were oft maligned by the motorcycling press. Because my 250 was my first 'bigger' bike after the 175 I was in awe. And had absolutely no problems while I owned it.

They were maligned with good reason.
They had a number of pretty short-sighted design flaws in the engine.
As a consequence, the stock of spare parts was depleted very quickly after their production run finished - try finding cam chain tensioners or parts like that these days, almost impossible.
If you fry the cam, you get to find a new head somewhere.

I could go on, but let it suffice to say that they would be a poor choice for a project unless it was in very good condition, or had great sentimental value to you.

I found a 360 here in town a few years ago and went to have a look at it for old times sake. It was complete, but far from perfect. The owner asked an opinion of value, and I told him 'a few hundred dollars, maybe'. He was convinced that it was worth well over $1000! Needless to say I ran away, and as far as I know it is still sitting in his workshop.

Looks like your old bike ended its days in 1985 with a 360 engine and painted silver.

Are you serious?  The Honda CB360 twin is a poor choice for a motorcycle project??  I had been thinking about trying to find one, as I've always thought these were neat ever since I saw my uncle's when I was a kid.  I always thought all Honda CBs had noisy cam chain arrangements, but thought that these bikes were reliable as a stone axe..  Surely there is a cam chain retrofit solution?  There has to be a bazillion of these bikes around.
