First real ride since purchasing her 2 years ago. 18 years in a barn previous to my cafe conversion...

Maven,

Your bike looks great!, love the rear stance. Where did you get your seat and shocks from? The shocks look a bit like cycle exchange. Really keen to hear where the seat is from.

Good looking 750A Stu. A complete restore or just needed some TLC? I think Marcia would like to ride on that too ::)
It was a total non-running rat when I got it, complete with the fugliest old fairing and bags ever. Turn signals were hack sawed off of the forks, seat cover was destroyed, it leaked oil like the Exxon Valdez, and the mufflers were ripped off. I repaired it mechanically and recently scored the body work on eBay.

That bike is clean....you better get those pipes burning an evenly Stu......no excuse for that. ;)
Haha. Good eye. Everything is running top notch. Those pipes came off a parts bike and were already blued like that. I recently found a way to get the blue out without hurting the chrome, and they look almost new again. No bluing since.

Did the 750A come stock with the same aluminum rims as the early Goldwings?
Yes. Same front fender, too...except for the brake hose grommet holder.

Thanks! - Yes the shocks are from cycleX (shorties). The seat is from http://kickstart-garage.com it was a "one-off" for one of their customs which I saw on their website. I contacted them and had them make me one with custom upholstery. I was very happy with their service.

You can see images of how it uses the bikes seat hinges here...

Well I rode today, for a bit...
Crashed my '72 450 and it now looks like a Salvador Dali painting. Some cager turned left in front of me at a intersection and I T-boned him going 35. I walked away with a bruised knee and thankful that I'm not seriously hurt or dead! Careful out there guys!

Dude! The worst part was feeling time slow down as I approached the inevitable. I can't believe I'm not more messed up considering those forks are so tweaked and the tire wedged itself in the header and probably broke the stud. The car I hit was a Prius and I'm pretty sure it was totaled. Right after the adrenaline was rushing and I stood up and then lifted my bike up to find oil puking out the case. And yes, he's insured and the cop unofficially told me it was his fault which was nice to have the backup. There were also witnesses who saw the whole thing and were siding with me. Now all I have to do is wait to hear back from his insurance company and hope for the best. Oh ya, I'm super sore all over now. Feels like I've been beat up with a hammer. Thanks for the thoughts guys and this should also be a good lesson to wear protection, it saved my skin. Literally!

Glad your ok Shanks. Your very lucky could of been much worse. Back in the day it didn't bother me a bit, but now days being much older and hopefully wisher my butt always draws up some when I'm approaching a car that's turning in front of me. I start thinking out in my head what I'm going to do if he starts turning and how I can avoid a crash.

Glad you walked away from that one. Most of the bike looks salvageable for parts (frame is probably bent along with the forks etc). Its that time of year when crashes go up. I ride to work every day and this past week on my usual route this SUV coming from a left hand road into my lane (I have right of way going straight), sees me and yet still pulls right out in front of me causing me to swerve to avoid hitting his front fender. Crazy! This kind of stuff happens weekly in Boston. Needless to say a few words were said to the driver.

Your photo of your crashed bike is a good reminder for us all.
Heal fast!
