so what's so great about these bikes? i've seen some sell for as much as a good condtition CB but it's just a simple single enduro. don't forget about my age, lol.

basically,back in the 70`s elsinores were the #$%*,i remember back in school everyone wanted an elsinore.

when honda got serious about dirt bikes the Elsinore series bikes were introduced. they were Honda's first two stroke bikes. the " sl " Honda's and later " xl " were not competitive so honda introduced the " cr " and that is why everyone wants and values them

You're probably refering to the 73 and 74  125 and 250 motocross versions which pretty much did to motocross what the cb750 debut did to street bikes. I've got a '73 Elsinore 250 that is about to undergo a cosmetic restoration.  It runs like a raped ape, and for the day, was one of the fastest bikes around.  213#, chromoly frame, 26 HP, wheelie monster.

You can see the front end in this pic...crappy I know..
