How about a Jawa 500cc OHC Racer (in a Norton "Featherbed" Frame) ? I could dig it! 8)

Sam, I copied what it said about the road race Jawa in the Norton frame and here it is:

"One of our Austrailian chums (Dave Morris I think) with a Jawa 500 DOHC motor in a Norton "Featherbed" frame."

Australian?  Maybe Terry or another of our Australian Buddies knows something about this guy. ;)

Not who I thought it was then Billy, thought it looked like a guy I met at the Ulster GP a few years back.
He drove across Europe to Ireland with his mate and daughter only to have both their bikes stop just yards after the start.
What a waste.

I'm biased, of course, but you just have to love a big old thumper, in any guise.

Have to say Nick, that I'm liking the big old thumpers myself. 8) First one I remember was my Granddad's 55' Indian Woodsman 500cc Single (spelled Thumper 8) ) and I remember (on one off road event) him crossing this creek and just thumping right on up a hill and the others were mostly bogging down or spinning out. ;D
