BT650 i dig the exhaust on it. not knowing a single thing about the 650's i need to ask, is that a stock exhaust?

i find alot of import bobbers that dont have a real hardtail lookin kinda funky, but that guy who built that one made it look pretty sweet even without a real hardtail. BT650 I also like urs very much, the combination of the seat pan with that fender makes the bike, the tank looks awesome too.

Fuzzybutt,
My exhaust is stock. Aside from not wanting to rejet the carbs for a different exhaust, I thought it worked with this style of bike.

Pete T, I've seen that youtube before. He did a nice job. I agree with you on the seat and fender. It can make or break the style of the bike. I reshaped and finished the seat foam and pan 5 times until I found the right look with my frame. Same for the rear fender. The tank really changed the look a lot too.

That is exactly how i want to get a 1980 cb 650 custom im looking at. Are there any major differences between frames from 550 to 650?

I don't know about the 550 to 650, but the smaller bikes tend to lend themselves better to the bobber look because the engine doesn't hang over the sides as much. Not that I want to steer anyone away from a Honda, but if a cheap bobber is what you're looking for, the Yamaha XS 650 is a popular choice for bobbers because the engine looks like a Triumph.

Yes, it is a blast to rip around town on. The motor is now a 605, or 592, however you look at it; it pulls quite nicely.

It was really fun to build something a bit different with alot of unique parts and frame modifications.

Needless to say I learned alot!

Thanks! I was a bit hesitant to use that blue as I didn't want it to look tacky or obnoxious, but decided that I may as well try something a little unique that would make the frame stand out a bit.

Luckily, I am only about 5'9", so was able to keep the proportions fairly tight. In my opinion, it is really easy to stretch out the rear end too much, without making similar changes to the front to keep things looking even.

Paint is MS400 Ocean Blue...It's a duplicolor product...know you can get it in the can or in the quart

thats the same stuff i did my frame with. i found out the hard way it doesnt seem to be fuel resistant.
