what rear axle spacers do i need? ... (PICS ADDED)
« on: January 28, 2009, 03:04:45 PM »
hey guys, i need some help figuring out what axle spacers i need for my bike. The rear is a 76 rim i believe with a 78 cush drive. do i need the spacer for the cush side to be 78 and the right side (brake side) to be 76? or do i just need 78 spacers?

couldn't tell ya on that one but i do know the chain alignment is key, everything else may be compromised within reason.

I forgot to mention that the 78 cush drive is because the bike has a 78 motor in it.

If memory serves, the 78 K's spacers are 35mm and 25mm, not sure about the earlier bikes, I'll have to go measure the spacer from my K3.

its the 76 swing arm as far as i know... i can go out and put the rear wheel assembly on and see if i can get a ballpark measurement if that helps. but the motor isnt in the frame so i cant get the chain lined up to be accurate

Just throw the wheel on for now, then with engine in check alignment.

You do have the spacers from both wheels? probably will use the 76 sprocket side spacer if you have to spread the swingarm a lot to get it in, trim it.

alignment should be done on bike, not by keyboard.
