hey tom8toe,Norman Hyde M bars.

Bart, It's my understanding that all modern Triumph Thruxtons pre '09 ran 7/8 clip-ons. Then '09 the Thruxtons saw in place of the clip-ons, "M" bars. But I'm not sure if they were still running 7/8 diamiter or if they had moved to the 1" bar size that the bonneville and T100 were running. If you have a Triumph dealer close by, or you could call any number of dealers within the US and they should be able to set you straight as far as bar size. I'm just thinking that as far as used gear, this may open up your field of opertunity just a bit. I know of a set for sale right now on the Triumph rat site http://www.triumphrat.net/parts-hinckley-twins/108814-m-bars-up-for-grabs.html right now. But again, not sure if they're 1" or 7/8.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Chris

Superbike Bars from Bike Master- $20 but a lot of work to drill all the holes for controls, double checking to make sure levers are lined up where you want, and pulling wiring inside of the bars.  But very happy with them and comfortable!

Tried to mount them upside down, but the angle downward didn't clear the tank.

similar to stock, if not stock...  ^

yeah they aren't stock sorry for taking so long to reply. I forget the brand and measurments but they were in the catalog as superbike bars. the rise is like 2" and pull back is about 5" I think.

or stock 400f bars... would have to be '75 or '76 as '77s had more rise.

i don't see wires there, could they be inside?
the wires are inside.

Pre US 99 Thruxtons do have 7/8" clip ons. My brother has one.  Triumph wussed out on the newer ones and are putting 1" M styles bars on them.
