If you manage to find racing pistons for your bike could you let me know where you got them from?
I am also hunting for a race cam....

I have the C92 Manual and a few bits and pieces if you need anything

      Sam has many parts for the benlys. cb92/95,  so he has a pair of genuine honda race spec pistons and the clean barrel in the pic above fits the race spec pistons.
So sam is kindly going to get the barrel bored and re-sleaved.
sorry greg but it was lucky for us the parts must be rare. I wouldnt take a chance and buy them from thailand.

Sam sounds like a good man to have on your side.

You are going to have a great machine when you have finished.



I almost finished my Benly when I found out the barrels had been left for too long and not run (probably about 30 years judging from the last rego sticker) so they had corroded and will not seal properly despite the pistons fitting well. So I will have had to take the bike out to 0.75 oversize. That means new pistons. I figured I might as well do the cam while I am at it ;D

The valves also need doing as one is burnt.
I was going to source all these parts from Thailand as I was not aware there was anywhere else to get them.

I have considered finding a modern light weight piston of the right dimensions and modifying them.  :-\

Do you know if the cam from the c95 would fit a c92 engine and if so is it any hotter?
The local performance centre here refused to work on my cam as they said it was too small for their machine  :'(

Greg, the cams likely would fit either model as the only difference seems to be the piston bore size.  A "hotter" cam was likely found on the (rare) CB92 model and also on the (USA) CA95 model.  You can likely find some NOS parts at: http://www.cmsnl.com which is based in the Netherlands.  Their prices tend to be high as is shipping, but anything I've got from there is good quality and original.  Another stand-by option is to watch ebay for used parts that people are often throwing up...for instance I got a complete set of gears for the SL100 when really all I needed was the mainshaft.

Greg, if you want to go the 150 route that's good as it will make things much easier.
As Bob said the C92 and C95 cams will go in either head but give different valve timings.
The 150 block will fit C92 cases with about 2 minutes work and a big hammer ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D not joking ::) ::) ::)

If I can squeeze a 150 barrel on then I will go that way as I get roughly a 30% increase in power. The barrels are also pretty easy to get your hands on I should imagine...

I have decided to keep the bike at 125cc and get the racing pistons and a hot cam.

That way the bike will look exactly the way it is supposed to, it will just run a bit faster...

 :o

If anyone spies either of these items anywhere could you let me know?

By "torque" do you mean the torque output of the engine or the torque settings for various fasteners?  Also what is: "game setting"?

Since this is a thread about the CB92, I assume you want figures for those models.  The attached pictures are torque settings from the Honda Shop Manual for the 125/150.  The valve/tappet clearances are listed as 0.1 mm (0.039") cold.
