hey guys,
contrary to what the title says, i'm looking to make my motor pretty hot rod-ish without doing a big bore kit or CR carbs, namely because i'm on a budget. the motor i have to rebuild is in pretty good shape on the outside, and the valvetrain looks good, but i want to make it scream pretty well. what do you guys think will net some pretty good gains in power across the board without doing serious work? here's my plans, let me know what you think!
headwork, probably do most of it myself
mild cam w/ new valve train, ie heavy duty springs, retainers, etc.
new exhaust, hopefully jemco, or a yoshi replica from carpy
all new seals, gaskets, cam chain and tensioner, rings, etc.
pod filters
proper valve guide, i know a guy around here who knows his stuff really well!
heavy duty studs
extra plate clutch kit?
transistorized ignition and dyna coils
well what do you guys think?? like i said, i'm on somewhat of a budget, and considering i'm having to rebuild everything else on the whole bike, the engine needs serious attention from all you cheap guys!!
