'78F cafe racer seat from Carpy. Need an LED tail/turn lights.
« on: February 17, 2009, 06:21:43 PM »
I haven't got the seat yet but I am trying to source an LED tail/turn light to fit in the back of Carpy's "F" model seat.  I have the dimensions and there seems to be enough real estate to fit something back there.  Any ideas or any experiences?  Thanks--SS

I haven't made any purchases from them (yet) but if you want anything in LED's for a bike these folks probably have what you're looking for:

is this the seat your talking about?

If that is it what I did was use my stock tail light mounted upside down to fit the arch. It's not an LED but it works and cost about $10 to fab the bracket out of angle iron from home depot. I didn't opt for the closed end that is pictured mine was open.

That am be the seat.  I want to get rid of the bulky stocker lights and slim down the whole thing.  I'm looking for an integrated light that will sit right on that rear face.  I an ridding the bike of rear turn signal stems and I don't want to use any thing but the surface provided by the seat.  The idea is to make it look like it has no lights, like.......... you know..........a cafe racer!

I have used stuff from these guys with very good results ...

One really trick mod I use often is the integrated amber blinker lights within the tail light.  Basically on a two section tail light you can have the left or right blink amber as the turn signals.  check it out ...

I found Clear Alternatives through an ebay auction.  They have a Hayabusa rear light that looks like it would fit flat with allowances for the wiring.  Then a lens would go over it.  It has the integrated amber/red/brake set up in one unit which is what I want.  Do you have any experience with the unit?  Anyone?  It is a bit pricey to just by it and try to fit it.  I'll drop the dough if it will work.
