battery heated gloves?

Hi a few weeks ago we had one of those random winter days in Iowa where get to above 60˚F. Got caught out after dark as I usually do. By then it was in the mid 30s. Riding back home at 70 mph on the interstate a hour away Wasn't the funnest ::). Fingers where of course numb so I picked those hand warmers which helped a bit with the hands but not the fingers. Dose any know of a source for or use battery operated gloves (not from the bike) that have heating elements in the fingers? All the ones I've seen run off the bikes battery and I am afraid that would leave be stranded. plus I wouldn't like plugging in & out.

Thought about that but that also uses power from the motorcycles battery. Also I wonder how well they actually work? Since the cold wind is blowing on the top of your fingers.

always kept a pair of warmer gloves in the spring and fall just for that reason

They work really well.  I can ride in temps down into the teens because of them, and my fingers stay nice and toasty.

Hmmm. mid 20s is my cut off for a very short ride if I'm aching to go riding ;D. Where did you mount your switch? and dose it drain the battery much ?

I have the switch zip-tied to the handlebar on the right side near the triple tree.  When I use the heated grips a lot, I do have to put the battery on the tender every few days, but I also have additional power drains in the way of an H4 headlight and Dyna-S ignition.
