Best way to cut chrome Slip-on's??
« on: March 11, 2009, 07:20:44 AM »
I have Mac Headers on my 78 750 K and I bought new aftermarket(non-Mac) trumpet slip-on's. ;D ;D

The Mack headers are 2inch at the opening and I need to cut the slip-on's so I can make the fit.

What's the best way to cut chrome Slip-on's without damaging the chrome?  ??? ???

Cheers

Chop saw for metal.  I paid $150 and use it alot.
You have to block or clamp the item to be cut real solid and take your time so the blade doesn't build up too much heat.  The heat will discolor the chrome.
Go slow and lift the blade periodically so it cools off.

Worked for me.
