Hi guys and girls
« on: March 11, 2009, 08:22:02 PM »
Names Ivan, i like long walks on the beach, poetry, puppies and tuning fuel into speed and power.

Story so far, I'm in Melbourne Australia and i'm into Streetfighters, i ride a 89 gsxr 750 thats had a fair bit done to her. The problem is that wifey hates sitting on the tiny pillion seat and the bike is too agro for her. I had been thinking about getting another bike as a date bike when one day at my dad's i spot a 72 CB350/four under a heap of stuff ... Next thing i know its in the back of the ute and coming home ;D
What a great looking bike, comfortable for both of us and best of all it wont be the type of bike that wants to go to 12 o'clock with a pillion..
I'm not going to bother with some photos as she is rough but complete and the bloody motor wont turn over either... But thats not a big deal and i've had a read up on what to do..
So hopefully tonight it'll turn over and i can start the rebuild, which wont be a bare metal resto just a good tidy up.
It'll give me something to do in winter and while i cant work on the fighter.

Good for you, keep us posted and don't be afraid to post pics no matter how "rough" it might be!

Thanks guys,
I'm a toolmaker by trade so i use metal lathes and mills all day long... It's a blessing and a curse, I can make just about anything but when everyone knows that you never have anytime to myself.. Can you make this or can you just knock this up for me, I've got to learn to say NO... But it will pay for the turbo and parts for the fighter ;D

Agro = angry/loud/aggressive  ;)

I haven't got any pics but ill get onto it

But at least it is nearly Spring here so  :P to all those Aussies who were laughing at us in October.

Does it snow in Melbourne?

Welcome by the way, we've a small (but perfectly formed) gang of Aussies and Kiwis on here; you'll pick up on them if you hang around for long.

Steve

You don't have to send Fosters over here mate - it's made under license (saves transport costs I guess) - It's still crap though.

Bikes is bikes and although we major on SOHC Hondas, any bike is worth discussing in pure engineering terms (or as a daily rider). My DR is a Triumph.
