Hi all. I ordered the Cycle Exchange exhaust on Monday and it just showed up. I will be installing it later today, and I will have some pictures of everything for everyone. I will also make a quick video of how it sounds. Well I am off to start a fire, need some heat in the garage.

Here is a couple of pictures just out of the box. My pup seems to like it. And the shipping was very fast, I wasn't expecting it till next week.

You appear to have some sort of wooly otter there with you. Was that sent to you by Cycle-X also? Could probably make some nice sweaters out of it's fur.
Can you take a close up of the welds at the collectors? It does look like it was done well, design-wise.

I can't wait to see it and hear on your bike...I have been tempted to buy that exhaust...How is the over-all quality? (welds, finish, overall impression, etc...)

very nice, i've been curious about this pipe for some time now.
the only thing i don't like is the larger diameter toward the end - looks like the mac setup.
would've preferred it to be same diameter throughout to look more like a yosh.

Sorry no video yet. I encountered a leak on number 2. Looks like the angle is just a touch off. I will work on it some more tomorrow, as my wife is home now. Here is a couple of pictures. One is of the welds, two of are the fitment on the bike, and the third one is of the pup. Granted he does look like a woolly otter sometimes he is a miniature wire hair dachshund. By the way his name is Riley. As I was looking at the pictures I realized how dirty the frame is on the bike. It's a work in progress. Anyway more tomorrow.

Yes I finally got it to seal. But now she won't start. I have the battery on the charger right now, and will give it a another go in a couple of hours. Fingers crossed she will start.

in my opinion, you need to scrape together a sidecar for Riley and tool on down to Vintage Days at Mid Ohio later in the season. cool to have your own personal maskot.

That sure looks to hug the frame nicely. Seems the kerkers sometimes have ground clearance issues but that does not look like it will.

Well I seem to have found a new problem. I got my battery charged and went to fire it and it would turn over but no fire. I got looking at it and I had fuel coming out of my air box. So I pulled the air box and fired it up and number 3 is spitting fuel out the back of the carb. Anyone have any thoughts what might cause this? Would the valves being out of adjustment cause it?

On another note when it was running it sounded great. Hope to get this sorted out soon, I want to ride.

The black pipes really compliment your black engine side covers. Nice overall look.

Those pipes..... <drool>

Your leak, probably a stuck float or float valve needle. Rap on the float bowl a few times with the end of the handle of a hammer or screwdriver, see if that shakes it loose.

Thanks I wasn't sure about the covers when I dropped them off at the powder coater, but when I got them put back on I really liked the look. The pipe tucks in really nice. I can't wait to get her running good so I can go for a ride.

The carb issue is the number 2 carb and I made another post just about it. As I was thinking about it and this post really should be just about the Exhaust system.

Well she is running now. Got my carb issue worked out. It has a lot better power band then with the 4 pipes I had before. And the ground clearance is awesome, I can make a sharp corner and not have anything scrape. Sorry the video is not the best, but at least it is a video.

looks and sounds like a mac. however, as i found out with my 550k, mac makes a competition baffle. sounds quiet enough to me and has that v&h/yoshi/kerker tone to it. not the blatting sound of the regular mac.

I seem to remember (someone please correct me) that four/two/one exhaust, or tri Y in car-speak, was good for torque. Wish 550's (500 & 650 too) had more exhaust options.

Yup the Tri-Y setup is what I use in my drag car. Great Torque, and a smoother torque and HP curve.

Riley is a great help. When I am working on something and its not working out, he distracts me for a bit. Then when I go back to work I have a clear head.

Yeah, I run a set of stainless Tri-Y headers on my vette made by SLP and I love 'em. Great mid-range.
