I'm usually on the driver side, leaving the bike in gear and watching my mirrors for the cars behind me. Until another car stops behind me, then I pop it in neutral.

Yeah, I also generally stop on the driver's side so I can see them in their mirror.

shouldn't put it in neutral, might need 1st gear for a quick getaway if a car a few vehicles back plows into the one causing a chain reaction. just good practice, although I sometimes put it in neutral if I need to adjust something. do as I say, not s I do
