My lamp project is done!

I hope the mods can let this stay for a little while. I have finished my CB750 desk lamp winter project. I am very pleased how it came out. It will be in my office on Monday. I hope you guys get a kick out of this as I have been planning this for 10 years and never really thought I would get around to it. Thanks for Looking. Dan

That's friggin great! How do you turn it on? Gear shift? Just think, in 50 years that thing is going to end up at some garage sale and cause endless people to look and say "WTF??"... Things gotta weigh a ton, though...

It does turn on-off with the gear shift lever. Yes, I could run the cord out the back but the way it will sit on my desk this will be cleaner looking for now. It could be changed in 10 minutes. I have thought about the garage sale in 2050 and that is why I put the plaque on it. Thanks Dan

I saw a lamp made from an old knucklehead harley and had the idea. Put 2 and 2 together when I bought a junk engine for the jugs. The case was broke. It sat on my basement workbench for 10 years. The wife likes it and said if I did not want to take to the office that it was allowed to go on the table next to my chair in the family room. Dan

I really like the woodwork, it's a great backdrop for such a unique piece.  What sort of wood is that?  It has great grain.

Thank You all for the kind words. Not everyone understands and appreciates the beauty of the CB750 SOHC engine like we do. Motorcycles that hide the engine just do not seem right to me. Again, thank you. Dan
