Started a cosmetic makeover of the controls
« on: April 06, 2009, 10:09:57 pm »
So i wanted to clean up my controls and so i thought i would post progress here. I used a wire wheel on rotary tool to remove the old finish, the carbon steel one not stainless steel. I used dupli-color self-etching primer and then i chose to use this rustoleum lacquer gloss black. The first piece i did turned out pretty well. After priming i only did very little wet sanding and i still think it looks pretty decent. The black paint looked better until i resprayed only one piece, it was nice and smooth before. I might re do that first piece at the end if im not happy with it. I will put a coat of rustoleum clear enamel after all done painting. Let me know what you guys think so far. Will get some orange paint to fill in letters and kill switch later too

If you look the left side is smoother than the right, the right side is the side i resprayed after the left had dried.
