AAARGH spoke too soon as per usual, this morning a big puddle of oil/gas mix on floor of shed under Jaffas bike.
Drained the sump and sure enough all the gas from tank had migrated South again!!!
$37 worth of new oil and it wouldn't start? turned almost everything but not the crankshaft?
Loose bolt on end of flywheel again duh!......locktited that bastid this time.
Since we got the bike the Americanised gas tap has had us buffaloed, bike won't run on any setting but PRIME so we have been riding with that, today I decided I better get to the bottom of this gas tap bizzo as I wasn't going to spend any more $$$ on oil and gas mixture.
After dissasembling the gas tap I figured out (finally) that it should be connected to the carbs to give it vacuum for the diaphram.....simple really...what was I thinking??
Anyhow added a new length of tube from carb to gas tap and what do ya know it fires up without the choke! Just imagine trying to sync those carbs with one having a tube that was supposed to be attached to the gas tap but was just sucking air!.....OK we off to test run it now......
