Any F-1 Canadian Fans out there?
« on: April 11, 2009, 10:03:59 AM »
For some reason, Speed TV has decided that Canadians should be blacked out on the coverage of 2009 F-1 races.
This makes me mad as there is no other competition and its not likely that I will get TV feed from malasyia.

Speed TV broadcast the race in Australia but not Malaysia.  Not sure what the conflick is but its not like there is competition to the viewing rights.

What do they think you guys would rather watch than F1?  If I never flip there to see another "Pinks" re-run again it will be to soon.

You didn't miss much from Malaysia.

MotoGP starts this week.  It's being broadcast tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. here.  Hopefully you get it too.

Well there must be an error in the programming schedule. They list the 250's at 8pm then again at 10pm tomorrow.

I can understand the principle behind a blackout but it's not like I can get in the car and drive over to the race and see it.  Sure blackouts encourage spectators to attend local sports and that's good. If I could see a local F-1 race, I'd be the first in line. It's not the case with a sport like F-1 where the races are all over the planet.  So instead of getting the benifit of the sponser advertising time on the coverage they black the whole thing out and get no exposure time to the canadian public.
I subscribed to Speed TV to specifically watch F-1 racing and bike racing and now no coverage.

I'm tired of all the BS on speed and not much racing.  And they should just go ahead and change it to the nascar channel.

I do like some of the nascar racing the governing body (nascar) sucks.   I like the scca stuff but where is it anymore?   Not on "SPEED".

This has nuttin to do with tv but I am feeling nostalgic. When the G.P.'s were held at Mosport,I was a regular. On Friday, only a handfull of fans would be present. On top of a fine visual and audio syphony of v8's,v12's,flat 12's;4 wheels and six;you also had pretty much good to go status in the paddock including pit lane during breaks on circuit. Most things in life have improved but I gotta tell you boys and girls,I am blessed to have had that experience.Any one else out there remember?Bye the bye,TSN has rights for Canada no?   Rock On

I can only hope that TSN will pick up the f-1 races but right now they seem to be more concerned with curling?
