Greetings from Melbourne, Australia

Hi Everyone!

After lurking here for the past few months and downloading no less than 100 threads locally, I'm taking the plunge and introducing myself!

Jeremy here, from Melbourne, Australia.

For the last eight years, I've been riding an 81 CX500 shadow, (or riding it into the ground as some may say, considering its current state of disrepair) as my daily driver. Considering it was on its last legs in its current state, I decided to go for an upgrade, and purchased a 76 CB750 F1 from a great guy in NSW, which is currently with Andrew at the VIC CB750 club in Yarram to do some repairs and upgrades that I wasn't comfortable doing myself just yet.

You can see the bike in its current state at my gallery page here: http://gallery.sohc4.net/main.php?g2_itemId=308267

I will also hopefully doing a build thread, or a short one to show the before and after with Andrew's cleanup and some BCR parts.

As someone who works on the computer all day and all night, I really wanted to start getting more hands-on with my bike, and made it a new years resolution that in the next year I would do my best to do a full teardown and rebuild. So lately I've been poring over all of the Zimmermans Books I could find, as well as the entry level Haynes tech guide, and the clymer manuals for both the CX & CB.

Currently, I'm hoping to hook up both with some local members here for some possible in person mentorship to either work on the CX or a new 750 project, hopefully a K, or just ask lots of annoying noob questions here on the forums.

I've already put some personal emails out to some of you who are local, but if anyone else in Melbourne is keen to pass on some knowledge, please put your hand up! :) Otherwise, look forward to talking to you all on the forums.

best,
jw

We must be like souls.

My daily ride is a cx500 custom (81 German import), and my long term project among a few are a 1976 CB750F1 (nearing completion - or so I keep saying with not much progress).

There is also a good Australian site for CX information  www.australiancx.asn - join up it's free. my user name on that is 81custom.

cheers
 :)

watch out for Terry.......
