Well after a couple of years of slow progress, I finally got a garage and was able to finish my first project. I bought the bike a while back from a friend, wasn't in great shape. It's got a bunch of different years in it, '72 motor, '73 frame, and what I think is a '78 swingarm and wheels.
I've replaced the wiring, chopped the exhaust, cut the extra bits off the frame, sprockets/chain, rebuilt brakes, drilled rotor, tires, bars, seat from Benji, rebuilt the carbs (took a couple tries to get right, still may have to get them off again), and a bunch of other small stuff. Only thing left is a replacement master cylinder, I rebuilt my old one but it still leaks, I think the inside is too far corroded to seal correctly. I'll also probably break down and get some progressive shocks, might as well since I've replaced everything else. I also have the tapered steering head bearings, but I need to enjoy it a little before I tackle that and the forks.
Overall the project has been great. Of course I got frusturated a few times, but I have learned a great deal about this bike, and am now more confident about working on any of my bikes.
