I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

What's always confused me is even though many wives/s.o.'s have absolutely no interest at all in their partner's gearhead addictions, they have an uncanny ability to keep a perfect mental record of everything that goes in and out of the garage and exactly how much money is spent on all of it.  It's like they're naturally gifted garage inventory managers/accountants. 
Maybe that power could be put to good use! :)

well try being 17 and dealing with "parents" and getting a 77 cb750 (in 2000) i traded my Broken 79 mustang for it when my parents were in "Reno" for the weekend! i called my dad and said "hey" can i "sign" your name on the title and you go into DMV next week to put the bike in your name and i'll get my learners permit.... Good thing my Dad answered the phone because if my mom had and i said "hey can i talk to "dad". " my mom would of known there was something up..... it was ONLY ti'll she got HOME that i took the heat.... (i'm the youngest) so that was fun trying to have my dad convince my mom that it was "ok" for her "baby" to ride a motorcycle let alone a 750 :) boy that bike was fun... i really like my new one

I have a feeling (hope ;)) that exact same scenario will be playing itself out at my house in about 15 years with my son. ;D

If that's the worst call I get from him, I'll be very happy!  Hopefully I won't have to deal with the call my dad got from me.  3am on new year's eve, calling from 350 miles from home (they thought I was just spending the night at a friend's house a few miles away ;)).  "Hello, Dad.  I'm in JAIL!!!" >:( >:( ;D ;D

This is like the short conversation I had with my wife when I was addicted to salmon fishing -  her "How many fishing rods do you need when you only use one at time?" me "How many pairs of shoes do you have?" Long silence, gave me time to polish something.

My wife had me install a shoe rack on the back of our bedroom door to hold just a part of her shoe collection, and most of the shoes that sit on it I have never seen her wear in the 9 years we've been together. ::) :D

I get that "why did you buy that" conversation everytime i get a new tattoo. And it ends pretty much the same way.
"How can you justify spending 100 dollars on another tattoo?"
"How long have you had those sunglasses?"
"Uhhh... 3 months?"
"And how much did they cost? cause you said you need new ones"
"60 bucks"
"Ok so you spend 60 on something that needs replaced in 3 months, and I spend 100 that i get to keep until I die... Hmm.. "

You just need to find yourself the right kind of guy, Ink.  I found the right girl ten years ago, I waited two years for the right time to strike, and then I married her!  As long as I can pay my part of the bills and mortgage, she has no problem with what I do with the rest of my money. :)

God I love my wife.  She rides and wrenches on her own bike, and this past weekend at the swap meet she was talking me INTO buying more parts for the 750.

There are other countries in this world that I just love but the US is my first love :)

Mystic 1, you are blessed, lucky... choose whatever words you like.  I wish my wife would wrench with me - she'd rather get her fingernails dirty in the garden.  For me, the wrenching is in the same class as riding.  I get into a zone that I really like.  I'm sure one of her zones is the garden.  That's all I want to say about that.  ;)

I just remembered another place to hide another bike..... behind the vacuum cleaner. Well, in my house anyway, I am the one that drives that.

I am trying to get my wife to move to Hungary for a few years, she wants me to learn that language anyway... I have lived in a few countries, and will will do it again. Having said that, I will always come home.

well, a little, minor slipup got me nailed this afternoon. my wife asked me why in hell i have a  suzuki tank and a case of amsoil 2 stroke in the back of the car. see, we dont have any 2 stroke lawn equipment, and i just wasnt fast enough to come up with an excuse so she now knows theres a suzuki titan sitting in my shop as well as the 3 hondas. hey Inkscars, wanna get married? the present wife hates bikes with a passion and gives me holy hell whenever i spend time with them. and dont get her going on the subject of all my ink  :D
