Reg/Rec Compatability
« on: May 01, 2009, 08:48:48 PM »
Ok, I have a 78 CB750F SS and I'm looking at buying a regulator rectifier combo unit from Z1 ($99).  It is on hold for while as I am in the middle of a move and don't want the thing shipped to the wrong place due to bad timing.  All that considered, I have a 78 CB400T1 parts donor that has a reg/rec just sitting there.  Any idea if this thing could work on the 750.  I will probably still buy a unit, but the move could take up to three weeks, and I really want to get on the road.

I suppose I could just wire it up, once I figure out how, but I really don't want to burn anything up...

dont skimp on the rec/ reg its not a good idea if it dies your bike runs off your battery and dies... if something else fails then your S O L ... it "could" send AC into your battery bioling it over... or your recifier could die and short....

there is so many possibilities... just do it right so you have peace of mind that your charging system is at 100% and you never have to worry again...

you know the old adadge... it never fails when your close to home it always fails when your really far away and out of cell phone range.....

well i think that applies to charging systems ;)
