police shoot out
« on: May 06, 2009, 08:06:40 PM »
Guess this happens more regularly in the states than in sleepy ole kiwiland but today some drug crazed moron let rip with a semi auto at Police doing a drug raid here in my city of Napier.
At least one Officer was killed outright possibly another and there are 2 in hospital one serious.
This kind of serious criminal offending affects me anyway being a Prison officer and working in closely with the Police dept but my son is also a serving cop and all day as more information has come out I have felt just sick to my stomach.
Thankfully my boy is safe and from what I can find out so are his really good mates in the force, but still it's completely farked my day.
These are the latest cops killed in NZ this year, 3 so far in seperate incidents, my son tells me now I know how he and his sister felt all those years when something big would go down at the prison, paybacks are a #$%*!!
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Policemen and prison guards have always been very nice to me. I'm sorry that some good men were killed and injured by some jackass that doesn't know what his gun is for. Good luck, man, and I hope you and your son stay safe.

I think the hells angels have moved on to more lucrative pursuits than a bit of weed.
yes we can own firearms, you must be registered and have a licence. we aren't allowed to just carry them around tho.

Motorcycle gang "the Outlaws" is aparently involved, they are usually very quiet and have been for decades, but funding a $30 grand Harley is easier if you deal drugs.
 >:( Just found out taht the gunman is an old school mate and I worked with him for a few years on the railways, damn who would guess that neat kid would turn out to be a cop killer?
I'm betting when they get in there they will find more than a bit of grass, the drug of choice in NZ is a filthy thing called "P" or methamphetamine that affects all reasoning, I have seen hundreds of prisoners bent out of shape on it, makes them paranoid and twitchy as, very very dangerous in that state.
Yes our cops have vests but I'm picking it was a head shot that dropped Officer Snee, he was a good guy who I had met on serveral occasions, sports mad and a caring family man, so sad. :'(

Better news, only one dead but they still can't reach his body as the gunman shoots at them most distressing for the family.
Dog handler and the other cop out of serious danger in hospital as is a neighbour who tried to stop the shooting.
One police dog is missing, they think she is in the dog van but again they cannot reach her as the suspect has a high powered rifle on them, half of my city cannot go home as the cops have cordoned the streets off.

They got tanks here now!
Police have recovered the dead cops body, he was a neat guy too, very well liked in Hawke's Bay area.
The gunman has explosives in house apparently, I say line up a tank and let rip with the heavy ordinance now that no one else is in there, I don't want to have to look after him in my jail. >:(

No death penalty, pretty slack laws really in NZ, part of our "culture" unfortunately.

My info is that the cops think the gunman shot himself but they can't confirm this, the robot they sent in broke down and with all that explosives he is supposed to have I guess they are worried he boobytrapped the place, anyhow it's dark and wet tonight so best they wait and watch, we don't need to lose anymore good cops.

Burn the house down, especially since it's dark. Then you can watch him wriggle around in a ball of flame.

No death penalty?  ???  You mean you eat them alive?!?   :o

Now, don't go and tell me you're not cannibals, or I'll have to ruin your image of us and tell you that not all Americans wear cowboy boots and hats.  Oh yeah, and not all French people wear striped shirts and berets*.

*but most of them do, right?

Very sad news.
I’ll pray for him and the family tonight.
I used to think that this kind of stuff do not happens in places like NZ.
I’m not exactly a cop, but a Federal Judge here in Brazil.
Worked in some real hot spots here, including the border zone with Paraguay and Argentina.
Did you watch Miami Vice? That’s that place I’m talking about.
There I heard of Alcaida much before the 11/9, since we did a lot of financial surveillance of “funds” coming from and going to USA, Europe, and places like, well, I cant talk about the “suspects” places.
And the amount of drugs that go trough that region is almost unbelievable.
Shootouts and dead people are an almost common place.
But I used to like to believe that there were some places in the world where those sh….. do not happens, and Australia and New Zeland where one of those places.
Sad you guys have to go trough these situations too, and again, I will pray for the cop and family tonight, as I always do when one of “ours” die.
Sory the bad english.

The cops here don't have bullet proof vests on as a matter of course but they do wear STAB PROOF vests.

Which is a shame if you're going to a gunfight and not a knife fight.

The Minister of Police got all squirmish when the left leaning, pasty, sickly liberals and know-all's decided they didn't want the New Zealand Police using tazers.

So they carry pepper spray.

There seems to be a huge resistance here on the issue of moving on into policing as it should be in the third millenium. The government wants it to be seen as a Clean and Green police force, who have an action plan for every emergency, and who don't carry lethal weapons as THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY KILL SOMEBODY.

The end result is that cops are getting killed but it seems that's OK as long as some offender doesn't get his rights slightly infringed.

UPDATE: Some knob-end neighbour of the killer has painted the word LEGEND on his roof. This is the mentality of the underclass here. He's so think that he doesn't see that he's just invited the heat down on his sorry arse. He's going to regret that act of solidarity with a psycho nutbag evil criminal killer.
