True Toycollector, but one positive has come out of it all, National Government now says they will roll-out the tasers (which we have had for years now by the truckload but they wouldn't let the cops have) , my son would rather carry a taser, he sleeps better when he hasn't deprived someone of a loved one for no good reason. :)
I didn't realise till today that the gunman actually chased the unarmed Police (already wounded) down the road firing at them trying to finish the job, something he would have done had not the courageous neighbour tried to wrestle the gun off him.
That guy deserves a medal and with luck he will live to recieve one as he is in critical condition at moment.
Hey Fuzzy, as a Corrections Officer I see the end product of all this and a great deal is the result of unstable people taking illicit drugs like cannabis and "P".
You'd think a bit of dak wouldn't hurt and in sane stable people it usually doesn't but as it's sold by dealers not chemists people with behaviour problems abuse it and it plays Hell with their brain chemicals.

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Don't think that tazers are the best solution. Plenty of deaths here in Canada from them, Christ they tazered one guy in a hospital bed who #$%*ed a bit to much.

Seems the ease of a "no harm" tool has made the cops to lazy for a good wrestling match and they just pull them out and shoot 1st and ask questions later, it's just human nature to take the path of least resistance.

P.S. If they had shot these people with guns and killed them they would have been charged with murder.  Innocent folks are dying :o :o

Well I'm dusting off my number 1's for Officer Len Snee's funeral tomorrow, such a pointless death and such a well liked nice family man.
I don't like guns, never have, wouldn't have one in the house, if I can't kill it with my bare hands then my old Japanese Sensei would be very disappointed in me. ;D
There is only one gun I want to see in New Zealand and that is the glock strapped to my sons thigh, he can sleep with it on if he wants, it seems in NZ only the bad people have the weapons, about time we changed that.
At work in my prison I am not allowed to carry a pocket knife, however on a daily basis we dish out hundreds of razor sharp chisels so the prisoners can do therapeutic carving!
There is a constant psychological argument raging here, it goes"if we arm the cops then the criminals will arm up" I got news for our legislators...too late they did! :(

If that was your son fronting the idiot, Hush, and if he had a Glock on his hip, he might have been able to get it out of the holster and cap the prick before he (the idiot) started killing.

I'm well over this touchy-feely attitude towards filth in this country. Sometimes, situations arise where someone has to go. So every time I would wish the criminal to go and not the policeman.

And when an officer does 'off' a piece of scum the liberals all come out wringing their hands and the family all snivelling to the Police Complaints Authority about what a "good boy" he was and stuff like "The cop could have retreated and called for backup" or "he should have shot him in the leg" etc.

The problem is that there isn't any political will to address the problem. Hopefully John Key (our Prime Minister) will continue with his reforms and get this sorted out.

Here here mate, if it comes down to my boy or the scumbag I want to see my boy come home at the end of his shift.
That Wallace killing over in the Naki went on for years and the poor cop had to go through 4 investigations, 2 which the family insisted on, not once did I ever see anything in the paper about what an idiot druggie the guy killed was.
I mean he had been on a "P" crazed bender for a week, no sleep, he broke 200 windows in the main street shops swinging that golf club, do you know anyone who can swing a club 200 times without getting tired.....no neither do I, but put them on "P" and they are like superman.
That cop and his family had to be relocated straight after the shooting cos the dickhead mates of Wallace wanted blood.
Don't hold your breath for Key to fix what Helen didn't have the nuts to do, he is dancing with the Maori party and courting the Greens, he has now come out and said maybe the cops should have tasers.......you just gotta shake your head eh. >:(

How do you sleep Hush?

My son wanted to be a policeman. We started watching that TVNZ programme about cops on the beat here. He quickly changed his mind.

I was relieved. That's sad. So more power to you and your boy and you sound like a good K1W1 father.

The thing that just gets on my tits is that the politicians and "Broad Howard" covet re-election and their jobs and in the meantime the whole P epidemic and lawlessness rages on out of control. The people at the top only want their pensions and to get through their tenure without any bugger causing problems for them. I despise the pricks.

Did you see that gormless b*arch who was cut up by Ronnie Dixon actually defending the prick on TV last month? "Oh, he was so intense, he was all over me, and into me, he was a man all right"....

That's how bad it's got in this country. Total lack of backbone and spine and determination to act and the feeble minded getting air time. God help me!
