WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: May 15, 2009, 09:56:20 PM »
This is my last night at my 3rd shift job. I've done this for a year and a half and have never gotten used to it. I also have a coworker that I work with on my shift that is one of the biggest a-holes I've ever met. I don't have a job and I'm worried about that, end of contract, butt it's tempered with relief. I've been a contractor for IBM here and they are now staffing with Teksystems which pays $8 and hour less and I would have cut my hours by 40 hours a month. I never want to work for IBM ever again. They don't treat people very well. At least the people "in the field" anyway.

What type of field work did you do for IBM?  I'm in Field Service for printing systems, it's a small world maybe I can point you toward someone I know...

did it for 3 years before being laid off recently.
Glad it happened though.
It's nice being sane again!!!

Good luck getting a good paying job in your field.

IBM calls anything "field work" that isn't in a corporate office. I was working in a IT command center for Gap/Banana Republic/ Old Navy. But, I've done PC roll outs for Nissan, installed Cisco routers/PC's/peripherals for state farm and  POS roll outs too. I would like to learn more about printer field service. I tried to get on somewhere here in town that does that to get the training, but never heard back. I can figure anything out, I've never been in a situation where I couldn't figure something out if I had the time to think or the pressure to get the results. Thanks for the help  :)
